Pacific Watershed Associates (PWA) was the first private company in Northern California to specifically focus on road and trail system planning with an emphasis on protecting water quality. Our reports, publications and design criteria for managing roads and trails are incorporated into many assessment and implementation manuals and handbooks. Under contract with Federal and State agencies, PWA has developed technical guidelines for sound upland and road restoration assessment and implementation techniques that have become the regulatory standards for the protection of water quality and aquatic habitat.
